Christmas is a season of joy, and it’s not just because of the lights, gifts, or gatherings. True joy is rooted in the incredible news that was proclaimed over 2,000 years ago: “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11). The birth of Jesus was the fulfillment of God’s promise to bring salvation to a broken world, and it’s this good news that fills our hearts with lasting joy.

Unlike happiness, which often depends on our circumstances, the joy of Christmas is unshakable because it is grounded in the unchanging truth of God’s love. This joy comes from knowing that Christ came for us—not because we deserved it, but because of His grace and mercy. As Isaiah 61:10 declares, “I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness.”

This Christmas, let the joy of Christ overflow in your heart and life. Spend time in His Word, meditate on the miracle of His birth, and share the good news with those around you. Joy is contagious, and when we live with the joy of the Lord, it has the power to touch and transform others.

As we celebrate the gift of Jesus, may our joy not be limited to this season but carry us into the new year and beyond. Let us rejoice not only in His birth but also in the hope, peace, and salvation He brings. Merry Christmas!
