The resurrection of Jesus Christ not only secured our salvation—it redefined our very identity. When we placed our faith in the risen Savior, we didn’t just receive forgiveness; we were spiritually united with Him. Colossians 3:1–3 declares, “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above… For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” We are no longer who we once were. We are alive with Christ, and our new identity is found entirely in Him.
Before salvation, we were dead in trespasses and sins—bound by shame, separated from God, and enslaved by the flesh. But because of the resurrection, we have been raised to walk in newness of life. That means our past no longer defines us. Our failures don’t have the final word. Our old man has been crucified with Christ, and we are now clothed in His righteousness. We don’t earn our place—we stand in it, by grace, because of Him.
Living in this new identity means seeking what is above, not what is below. It means letting the resurrection shape our values, our pursuits, and our perspective. We live for a heavenly kingdom, not an earthly one. Our lives are not about self-glory, but about Christ’s glory. The more we behold Him, the more we become like Him. We live with purpose because we live in Him.
So today, remember who you are in Christ—not who you were, or who the world says you are. You are risen with Christ. You are accepted, adopted, redeemed, and empowered. You have a new identity that death cannot erase and hell cannot undo. Live boldly, love deeply, and serve joyfully—because the risen Christ lives in you. Let the world see a resurrected people who reflect the glory of a resurrected King.
