Our words have incredible power in relationships. Proverbs 18:21 tells us, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Words can either strengthen a relationship with encouragement and truth or weaken it through criticism and negativity. As followers of Christ, we are called to use our words to build others up.

Ephesians 4:29 reminds us, “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” This means speaking with kindness, honesty, and love, even in difficult conversations. When we speak with grace, we reflect the heart of God and foster trust and unity in our relationships.

Today, ask God to guard your tongue and help you speak words that encourage, uplift, and glorify Him. Whether it’s a kind word to a spouse, an encouraging text to a friend, or a heartfelt apology, let your words bring life to those around you.
