Walking with God doesn’t mean the path will always be smooth. Trials and challenges are a part of life, but the beauty of walking with God is that He never leaves us to face them alone. Isaiah 43:2 gives us this assurance: “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” God’s presence in our trials is our strength and hope.

Trials have a purpose in our walk with God. James 1:2-4 reminds us, “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” God uses trials to grow our faith, refine our character, and draw us closer to Him. Even in the midst of difficulty, we can trust that He is working all things together for good.

If you’re walking through a trial today, take heart. Bring your burdens to God in prayer, and lean on His promises. He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). As you walk through trials, remember that they are temporary, but God’s presence and love are eternal. He is walking with you every step of the way, holding you up and guiding you toward His purpose for your life.
