Walking daily with God begins with building your life on the right foundation: His Word. Just as a house needs a strong foundation to stand firm, our spiritual journey needs the unchanging truth of Scripture to guide and sustain us. Jesus emphasized this in Matthew 7:24-25 when He said, “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.”

God’s Word is more than just a collection of stories or teachings—it’s His living, active message to us. Hebrews 4:12 declares, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword.” When we spend time in Scripture, we allow God to speak into our lives, revealing His will, encouraging our hearts, and equipping us for every good work. Make it a priority to set aside time each day to read and meditate on His Word, letting it shape your thoughts and actions.

Walking with God also requires obedience. Hearing His Word is vital, but doing what it says is what truly transforms us. James 1:22 urges us, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” When we apply God’s truth to our daily lives, we align ourselves with His purposes and experience the blessings of living according to His plan.

Today, take time to reflect on the foundation of your walk with God. Are you rooted in His Word? Are you living out what He has taught you? Begin each day this week with Scripture, ask God to reveal His truth to you, and take steps to apply it. A life built on the solid rock of God’s Word will stand firm no matter what challenges the year brings. Step forward in faith, knowing that with Him as your foundation, your walk will be unshakable.
