The resurrection was not the end of Jesus’ story—it was the glorious beginning of His exaltation and the prelude to His return. After rising from the grave, Jesus ascended into heaven, and the angel declared to the watching disciples, “This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner” (Acts 1:11). The One who came first as the suffering Lamb will come again as the reigning King. The empty tomb points forward—not just to what Christ has done, but to what He is going to do.
The resurrection guarantees the return. Jesus didn’t rise to leave us—He rose to prepare a place for us. “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself” (John 14:3). His resurrection was the down payment on every promise yet to be fulfilled: judgment of sin, redemption of creation, the resurrection of the saints, and the eternal reign of the Son of God. He who conquered death will return to conquer every throne, every enemy, and every lie that exalts itself against Him.
In a world filled with chaos, corruption, and confusion, the return of Christ is the anchor of our hope. We don’t look at the headlines—we lift our eyes to the heavens. “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13). The risen Christ is not distant—He is coming soon. And every eye shall see Him.
Let the certainty of His return shape your life today. Live in holiness. Walk in expectancy. Labor in the harvest field with urgency. The same Jesus who rose from the grave will split the skies with power and glory. The tomb is empty. The throne is occupied. The King is coming. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
