When we are faithful to share the gospel, God is faithful to bring the increase. Every seed sown in faith, every act of kindness in Jesus' name, and every gospel conversation has the potential to bear eternal fruit. Psalm 126:5-6 beautifully captures this truth: “They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” This passage reminds us that evangelism is not in vain—though the work may be difficult, the reward is great. There is no greater joy than seeing a soul come to Christ, knowing that another name has been written in the Lamb’s Book of Life and another life has been transformed by the power of God.

However, the harvest does not always come immediately. In many cases, believers plant seeds that they may never see fully grow. There are missionaries who labor for years before seeing their first convert. There are parents who pray for their children’s salvation for decades before they finally come to Christ. There are faithful witnesses who share the gospel, only to be met with rejection time and time again. But Galatians 6:9 encourages us not to lose heart: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” God's timing is perfect, and His Spirit is always at work, even when we don’t see immediate results. The harvest will come in His time, and we must remain faithful in the sowing.

Rejoicing in the harvest also means recognizing that the work of missions is ongoing. The fields are still white unto harvest (John 4:35), and there are countless souls who have yet to hear the gospel. Every salvation should inspire us to press forward, knowing that there are more who need Christ. Rather than growing complacent, we should allow the joy of seeing lives changed to fuel our passion for evangelism even more. Luke 15:10 tells us, “Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.” If heaven rejoices over every soul that comes to Christ, how much more should we celebrate and continue the work with renewed dedication?

Today, take time to thank God for the souls that have been reached through missions and evangelism. Rejoice in the privilege of being part of His work, whether by witnessing personally, praying for the lost, or supporting missionaries in the field. Ask the Lord for a continued harvest of souls in your community and around the world. And if you’ve been discouraged by slow results, be reminded that every faithful effort is being used by God. Keep planting, keep watering, and keep trusting—because in due season, the harvest will come. Will you remain faithful until that day?
