On this Valentine’s Day, it’s a perfect time to reflect on the love of Christ and how it shapes our relationships. Jesus said in John 13:34-35, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” His sacrificial love is the standard we are called to follow.

Christ’s love is unconditional, patient, and forgiving. It’s the kind of love that goes beyond feelings and requires action. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 reminds us, “Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up… Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.”

Today, let the love of Christ flow through your relationships. Whether it’s with your spouse, family, friends, or neighbors, make an effort to love as He loves. Celebrate the gift of love, and thank God for the ultimate demonstration of His love through Jesus Christ.
