In a world that prizes control and self-reliance, surrender can feel like weakness. But in God’s kingdom, surrender is the key to true strength. When we let go of our plans, fears, and desires and place them in God’s hands, we find the peace and power that come from trusting Him fully. Psalm 46:10 reminds us, “Be still, and know that I am God.” Surrendering to God allows Him to work in ways that go beyond what we could ever achieve on our own.
Surrender begins with recognizing God’s sovereignty. He knows the end from the beginning and has a plan for our lives that is good and perfect. Jeremiah 29:11 assures us, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Surrendering to Him means trusting that His ways are higher than ours, even when we don’t understand them.
This week, take time to reflect on areas of your life where you may need to surrender to God. Is there a burden you’ve been carrying, a decision you’re unsure of, or a fear that’s holding you back? Lay it at His feet and trust Him to guide you. Strength is found not in holding on but in letting go and allowing God to take control.
