Healthy relationships require a strong foundation, and for Christians, that foundation is built on the love and example of Jesus Christ. Colossians 3:14 reminds us, “And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.” True, lasting relationships—whether in marriage, friendship, or family—are anchored in selfless love, humility, and a desire to reflect Christ.
To build strong relationships, we must begin with a commitment to honor God in how we treat others. This includes showing kindness, forgiving quickly, and prioritizing unity. Ephesians 4:2-3 exhorts us, “With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” Relationships flourish when we take the time to nurture them with intentionality and grace.
This week, evaluate the foundations of your relationships. Are they built on trust, love, and Christ-like humility? Pray for God to strengthen your relationships and to give you wisdom to invest in them in ways that bring glory to Him.
