Healthy relationships require honesty, but honesty must be tempered with love. Ephesians 4:15 instructs us, “But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.” Truth spoken in love builds trust, resolves conflicts, and strengthens bonds, while harsh or careless words can cause division.

Jesus provides the perfect example of truth and love in balance. When He confronted sin or corrected His disciples, He always did so with compassion and a desire for their growth. Colossians 4:6 reminds us, “Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.” Truth and love together bring healing and growth to relationships.

This week, ask God for wisdom as you navigate conversations that require honesty. Speak with grace, humility, and a heart of love, seeking to strengthen the relationship and glorify God in all you say.
