Love that lasts requires sacrifice. Jesus demonstrated this perfectly when He laid down His life for us. John 15:13 says, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” In our relationships, true love is shown when we willingly put others’ needs ahead of our own.
Sacrifice doesn’t always mean grand gestures; often, it’s found in the daily choices to serve, listen, and give of ourselves. Philippians 2:7 describes how Jesus “made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant.” When we follow His example, we reflect His love in our relationships and build bonds that are rooted in selflessness.
Today, look for opportunities to practice sacrificial love. Whether it’s giving your time, offering a kind word, or simply being present, your acts of love will strengthen your relationships and glorify God.
