As the days of December slip by and Christmas draws near, it’s easy to get caught up in the rush of preparations. Shopping lists, meal plans, and family gatherings can quickly consume our time and energy. But in the midst of the busyness, have you taken time to prepare your heart for the true celebration of Christmas?

In Luke 2:19, after the miraculous events of Jesus’ birth unfolded, we read, “But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.” Mary, the mother of Jesus, paused to reflect on the wonder of what God had done. Her quiet moments of pondering serve as a beautiful reminder for us to stop and reflect on the incredible gift of Christ this Christmas season.

Preparing your heart for Christmas means setting aside intentional time to focus on what matters most. Read the story of Christ’s birth from Luke 2, meditate on the promises of God fulfilled through His Son, and thank Him for the hope, peace, and salvation that Jesus brings. Psalm 46:10 encourages us to “Be still, and know that I am God.” In the stillness, we can refocus our minds and hearts on the Savior who came to redeem us.

This week, consider how you can prepare your heart for the joy of Christmas. Make time for worship, gather with loved ones to pray, and share the good news of Christ with those around you. Let the anticipation of the season be more than just about gifts and gatherings—let it be about celebrating the greatest gift of all, Jesus Christ.

Christmas isn’t just a day; it’s a reminder of God’s love and faithfulness that lasts all year long. As you prepare your home and plans for the holiday, don’t forget to prepare your heart as well. Jesus deserves more than a passing thought—He deserves our worship, our focus, and our gratitude. Merry Christmas!
